Square Foot Gardening Project

Image
Here are a few photos from a gardening project that I completed (with some help!) in 2010, after moving into a new apartment with a patch of weeds for a backyard. The garden boxes were built following the guidelines for Square Foot Gardening , an approach that requires a lot less space and watering than I had previously thought necessary for growing food. The fence was designed and built as we went along. All the tools used for this project were borrowed from the Oakland Tool Lending Library (for free!). Here is what the space looked like at the beginning... Middle... And end!

Welcome to My Blog!

This is a blog dedicated to my adventures in gardening and growing food. I've been a home, organic gardener in the Bay Area since 2005 and am finally ready to take this show beyond the backyard. This is where I'll document my endeavors to learn as much as I can about edible landscaping and sustainable gardening/farming practices.
